鸥翼式车门设计的开山之作


制造于1955年的300SL是二战之后最为著名的梦幻之车。作为从战争的废墟里重新站立起来的象征,梅赛德斯-奔驰300SL有着出色的外观设计,流线型车身来自制造超级赛车的丰富经验,最为奇妙的是打开后的双门犹如海鸥展翅一般。

 

该车配置的六缸燃油直接喷射系统取代了传统的化油器,远远领先于同时代其他同类车型。


动力强劲,身手敏捷,许多人因此打开车门极速驾驶,还引发了不少事故,以至于公司不得不出面呼吁要注意安全。从车内部装饰的格子布面桶形座椅,到车壳平滑锃亮的做工,300SL再次向人们展示了德国汽车业出众的制造能力,也让战后逐渐恢复元气的时期,有了一款充满乐趣的跑车,至今它依然被人们视为一件艺术品,是战后第一个十年的最佳总结。


Pioneer of Gullwing Door Design

 

Made in 1955, the 300SL was the most famous “dream car” after World War II. As the symbol of the recovery after the war, Mercedes-Benz 300SL has a remarkable body design. The rich experience in racing cars manufacture gives it the aerodynamic body. The most wonderful design is that the opened doors looks like seagull wings.

 

The equipped powerful six-cylinder fuel injection engine replaces the traditional carburetor, which goes far ahead of cars from the same category in the same era. With strong power and agility, it also caused many accidents because many people drive too fast and aggressively even with doors open. As a result, the company has to call for attention to driving safety. From the bucket seat with grid cloth cover in the interior decoration to the shiny and smooth car shell, 300SL once again shows the German automobile industry's outstanding manufacturing capability. Besides, it provides a type of sports car full of fun during the period of the post-war recovery. Up till now, it is still regarded as a piece of art and the best summary of the first ten years after the war.
